Exploring the Technical Solutions of Rejuvenating the Tea Gardens in Iran

Abstract

This study aims generally at investigating primary solutions of replanting and rejuvenating the tea gardens in Iran, and it is a causal-correlative study. Collecting the required data is carried out through both library and field research and the statistical population consists of two groups, including 75542 tea growers and 32 tea experts and agents. All the tea experts and agents are surveyed and a sample of 383 tea growers is randomly selected based on Cochran formula. A researcher-made instrument (questionnaire) with the reliability coefficient of α = %89 is applied to collect field data. Data analysis is made in two sections of descriptive and analytical statistics. As shown by the study results, the independent variables of producing the breeded tea sapling, applying the advanced irrigation devices, rejuvenating tools and instruments, distributing the agricultural inputs, coordination of tea production and processing, location of tea gardens, and amount of tea research on replanting the tea gardens are significantly effective factors on the tendency of tea growers to adopt replanting and rejuvenation. Therefore, with stress on the mentioned accepted cases, the infrastructures and the conditions required for reconstruction of tea farms should be considered to increase the quality and quantity of tea products for competition with global markets.
