A Survey on Rural People\'s Attitudes towards ICT Use in Developing the Central District of Najafabad County

Abstract

 This study aims mainly at investigating rural people's attitudes towards ICT use in developing the Central District of Najafabad County. The statistical society of this survey consists of all the literate rural people with livestock and/or agricultural jobs in the studied region. It is conducted in a multi-staged proportional random sampling method, resulting in the selection of 172 individuals. As shown by the correlative analysis, there is a significant positive relation between the rural people's attitudes towards ICT use and the variables of literacy level, skill of using computers, and Internet skill. Also, ANOVA test shows that there is a significant difference between variable of job classifications (agricultural, free, public, and others) in the attitudes towards ICT use. According to regression analysis, respectively, the variables of the skill of using computers, Internet skill, and age are the most important and effective factors in the people's attitudes towards ICT use.
