Factors Affecting Wheat Farmers\' Adoption and Investment in Drought Management Methods and Technologies: A Case Studty of Varamin County

Abstract

  This study aims generally at identifying the factors affecting the wheat farmers' utilization and investment in drought management methods and technologies in Varamin county. It is carried out in a descriptive correlation survey method. The statistical society is all the irrigated wheat growers covered in the county. Extent of social participation, amount of using the services of agricultural engineering consultancy service providers, yields of irrigated wheat, and distance between farms and the Extension and Service Centers of Jihad for Agriculture is found by the study results to be the most effective variables. Also, as shown by the study findings, the studied farmers tend to apply the drought management methods and technologies and make the concerned investments at a range of low to very low levels.
