Socio-economic and Physical Impacts of Communication

Abstract

  The purpose of the present study is to examine socio-economic and physical impacts of communication and information technology on the life of rural people in Dehaghan county in 2012, with a descriptive-analytical method. The information is collected from documents and fields. Based on Cochran formula the sample size is equal to 288 and the data are collected by a questionnaire. The reliability of it is assessed by Chronbach's alpha coefficient at 90%. The respondents are divided into two groups of users and non-users in four villages. Structural equation model is applied to the data. The results indicate that communication and information technology has different impacts on the life of rural people and on average, the physical impacts are stronger.
