Evaluation of the Effects of Technology and Communication on Empowering Rural Women, case study: Kaghazkonan district, East Azerbaijan province

Abstract

The use of technology and communication has been useful and effective in facilitating and accelerating the exchange of more information among village women and can empower them in various information. The main purpose of the research is to evaluate the role of information and communication technology in empowering rural women. The statistical population is the households of 69 villages in the rural areas of Kazhe-Kanan district. 9 studied villages were selected as samples using simple random sampling method (lottery method). 9 studied villages have 1834 households and 5566 people. Cochran's formula was used to calculate the number of samples needed to complete the questionnaire of 318 rural women. Library and field method (questionnaire) was used to collect and analyze quantitative data using SPSS22 IBM and Graphics22 Amos software. The results of the sample t-test show that political components with T-statistics of 8.14 and psychological components with T-statistics of 6.14 have favorable status and other components have unfavorable status, also the results of structural equations show that information, technology and communication respectively are the most It has the least effect on the psychological, political, social and economic empowerment of rural women with factor values of 0.481, 0.354, 0.301 and 0.247 respectively.
